James Storey, CPA

Director of Operations

James E. Storey, CPA joined the Abacus Payroll team in May 2019 as part of a merger with Payroll Express, Inc., bringing with him over 20 years of small business payroll expertise. He shares Abacus Payroll’s priority on communication and commitment to above-and-beyond client service.

Previously headquartered in Northfield, NJ, Jim has provided timely, accurate, and responsive payroll and human resources solutions to small and family businesses throughout the Jersey Shore area, primarily covering Atlantic, Ocean, and Cape May counties. While his clients come from a multitude of industries, including hospitality, construction, professional service firms, medical practices, amusement businesses, and condo and campground associations, Jim has developed a particular strength in the retail industry.

A graduate of Parsons College, Jim is a licensed CPA in the state of New Jersey. He resides in Linwood, NJ with his wife of over 40 years. Outside the office, Jim enjoys traveling with his family and spending time with his grandson.
